The first human foosball (kicker) championship will take place in Moscow at Sokolniki park on August 23. The competition will be held on a special field constructed by FabLab – HSE Prototyping Centre. Anyone who wants to is welcome to join in and play.

Foosball (also known as table football, or kicker) is a bar room game usually played by manipulating miniature footballers fixed on rods mounted to the wall of the ‘stadium’ table. Players pull, push and flick the handles of the rods to make their ‘team’ shoot the ball. On Saturday, August 23 real people will play, but like the miniature tabletop players, they can only move along the ‘handrails’ that partition the field.

Come to Sokolniki and bring your friends – you can form teams and have lots of fun playing the game and maybe even win a prize.

Participation is free but you must register.

There should be at least 6 players on a team. If you do not have enough players to make a team, come to the FabLab site at noon and we will find a team for you to join.

HSE FabLab and MBA Strategy will award prizes to the best three teams.

Sportvokrug, a resident of HSE Business Incubator will broadcast the event online, so your colleagues, friends and relatives can cheer you on at home or in a sports bar that has an internet connection.
