French-Russian Academic and Research Conference ‘Economics, Politics, Society: New Challenges, New Opportunities ’On October 28th and 29th 2010 a French-Russian conference entitled ‘Economics, Politics, Society:New Challenges, New Opportunities' will take place in Moscow. This event is part of the Year of Russia in France and Year of France in Russia and has been organized by the Higher School of Economics jointly with the University of Paris I Pantheon-Sorbonne and the support of the French Embassy in the Russian Federation. The conference will include sessions in economic, managerial and legal areas, covering the most recent and relevant research issues, starting from macroeconomic policies, institutional economics and economics of healthcare, economics of innovative science, and ending with implementation of administrative reform, reform of public service and the challenges facing transitional economies and administration during the financial crisis. All issues will be considered in the context of building an innovative economy and knowledge society as a basis for long-term stability and the sustainable development of the country and society. Areas of conference work will be the following:macroeconomics;microeconomics;analysis and decision-making;economy of public sector and state economic policy;institutional economics;finance and stock markets;economics of science and innovations;legal regulation of the economy;political processes in the contemporary world;public and local administration;management;philosophy;economic sociology. Researchers, experts, businessmen and public officials from Russia and France will take part in the conference, including researchers and professors from the HSE and other leading Russian and French universities. This is the first time such a large-scale conference involving researchers from the leading universities and research centres in both countries has been held. And this will certainly be important not only for strengthening scientific ties between Russia and France, but also for further development of mutually rewarding economic cooperation.
