ISSEK Internship: Studying Social Trends

HSE’s Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge (ISSEK) invites undergraduate and post-graduate students of the Higher School of Economics to serve as an intern on a project that monitors global trends in the sphere of societal development (strictly social trends and those connected with technology). Applicants have until April 6 to submit their resumes.

Responsibilities:

Collect, process, and analyze data.

Study forecasting and analytical materials (primarily in English) on societal development that are related to socioeconomics in the humanities.

Participate in academic research and prepare analytical reviews.

Requirements:

A confident command of English in order to read analytical periodicals and academic articles

Specializations: economics, sociology, demography, management, political science, international relations, history, psychology, education, philosophy, cultural studies, and linguistics

Applicants must be hardworking and have an interest in foresight

Experience welcomed in processing and structuring large amounts of data (mostly qualitative, not quantitative). Experience compiling thesauri is also to your advantage.

Conditions:

This is a remote position headed by ISSEK staff.

Average 20 hours of work per week.
