‘Russia and Germany: the Prospects for Modernization' round-table discussion. Speaker: Reiner Stinner

On September 6^th a round-table discussion on ‘Russia and Germany:the Prospects for Modernization'will take place at the HSE. The event has been organized by the Higher School of Economics, the ‘Liberal Mission'Foundation and Friedrich Naumann Foundation.

Reiner Stinner, member of the Bundestag and speaker on foreign policy of the FDP group in Bundestag, will deliver a report at the event.

Working languages:German and Russian (simultaneous translation).

Problems for discussion:

1.     What challenges are Russia and Germany expecting in the forthcoming decade, from the liberal point of view?

2.     Mutual interests of Russia and Germany. What are the contradictions between the two countries?

3.     Global processes:chances and risks for both countries.
