The HSE Institute of Social Policy and Socio-Economic Programmes was founded in 1997, based on the Laboratory of Social Policy which had existed since November 1995.

The Institute carries out research and consulting for both the public and private sectors of the economy.

Areas of research:

  • Economics and the sociology of tourism;
  • Economics and the sociology of drug use;
  • Socio-economic expertise;
  • Economic and social aspects of passenger transportation reforms;
  • Evaluation of the effectiveness of federal and regional special-purpose programmes;
  • Regional projection of functional problems;
  • Development of programmes for statistical surveys and the processing of their results.
