Rector of the University - Higher School of Economics

The current Rector of the Higher School of Economics is Yaroslav Kuzminov.

HSE Rector's functions and responsibilities are defined by the HSE Charter. Rector is the highest authority at the University and acts as its legal representative.

Rector is responsible for management of education and research held at the University.  Rector annually develops a plan of the University development and submits it for the consideration of the Academic Council, and he is also responsible for implementation of decisions made by the University Academic Council. Rector is responsible for academic activity of the University, he manages HSE's budgets and resources; he organizes and manages the staff of the University.

HSE Rector is generally responsible before the staff and the founding shareholder for all the University activities.
