Easter Festival of Classical, Choral and Bell Music

The Fourteenth Moscow Easter Festival will take place from April 12th until May 9th 2015. This years’ Festival will commemorate two crucial dates in the history of the world and musical culture: the 70th anniversary of the Allied victory in World War II and the 175th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian composer, Pyotr Tchaikovsky.

The Fourteenth Moscow Easter Festival will open on April 12th at 8 p.m. in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory with a concert by the Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra with Valery Gergiev conducting and Denis Matsuev as soloist.

The festival programme consists of several parts: symphonic, choral, and chamber music, a ‘bells week’, and several charity concerts. The schedule will include performances in Moscow, as well as many other Russian cities connected both with significant events in World War II and the life of Tchaikovsky.

The festival director is Valery Gergiev, renowned maestro, Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Mariinsky Theatre.

More information is available on the Fourteenth Moscow Easter Festival website.
