Candidate is nominated by Udara Peiris, Assistant Professor of Finance at ICEF, for always willing to help faculty members and colleagues with their problems, no matter what they are nor how related they are to her job. She is always looking for solutions to make everyone happy!

"Victoria Khreshkova has made an enormous contribution to ICEF and HSE over the 15 years she has been here. She is one of the most kind and helpful people I know and is always willing to go out of her way to help. I am honoured to nominate Victoria for this award, and feel that she deserves to be recognised for her dedication, service, and most of all kindness and compassion to HSE and ICEF staff. I will first outline who she is and her professional accomplishments, and then describe my personal experiences of her. Finally I will share some of the positive experiences and thoughts my colleagues also have of Victoria.

Victoria graduated from the law Department of HSE in 2005, followed by a post-graduate programme and is currently completing a PhD. In 2010-2012 she studied a Masters programme in Financial Law at HSE. Victoria commenced work in September 1999 at the International College of Economics and Finance (ICEF) as a secretary of the Study office. Currently she is the in-house lawyer at ICEF and has been working at HSE and ICEF for15 years. In2007 the excellence of her work was reflected in being awarded an Acknowledgement Diploma in 2012 and an Honorary Diploma. Since 2011 she has also been working as a senior teacher at the cathedra of financial law of the Law department of HSE and is the author of more than 40 research publications and has been awarded a bonus for academic work in 2012/13, 2013/14, 2014/15 years.

Currently her main duties are a mix of legal work for ICEF (including contracts, regulation and taxation) and assisting foreign employees with their legal and contractual issues. Outside of her duties she has been actively and successfully involved in improving the social conditions of the university. Examples include the canteen at the Shabolovka campus where for a year she campaigned for them to improve equipment, including a control weigher, increase their staff numbers and improve their menu (especially providing healthier options and more vegetarian options). She has also been actively involved in improving the medical insurance available to all HSE staff for which she has been collaborating with the social department. She has also been tirelessly involved in encouraging HSE to reduce bureaucracy and increase the level of communication, and encouraging colleagues to communicate openly by sharing information and ultimately find efficient solutions for everyone.

Personal Experiences

Many times I have called or contacted her, late at night or on weekends, when I have trouble with anything from paperwork to being my translator in difficult situations. She is always concerned about the overall welfare of members of the department wanting to be sure not only that we are paid on time, but that we are eating well and are healthy. Moving to Russia to work at HSE, not speaking Russian and not knowing anyone here, is a daunting experience. Without the continuing help of Victoria I do not think I would have managed to settle in as well, and have as pleasant an experience as i have had. I am grateful that Victoria is an employee of HSE, and I think we can all be proud of her.

There are many in the department who are also grateful for all the help that Victoria has provided. Below are some notes in support of her nomination:

"I have already completed two years of living and working in Moscow. This period at HSE was a fruitful period for me, full of pleasant experiences but also challenges. As for the challenges, the ICEF personnel helped me a lot. The individual who I have distinguished for her efficiency, work ethics and willingness to go the extra mile to help is Victoria Khreskhova. I am grateful for her help and valuable support all these years. Viktoria surely deserves much more than a thank you from all of us at the department." - Kosmas Marinakis, PhD, Assistant Professor of Economics at ICEF and Department of Economics.

"Victoria is one of our greatest collaborators. Whatever need or doubt I have concerning her area of competence, she's always ready to provide the solution. Furthermore, she's often proactive in even anticipating our needs and knocking on our door to make us aware of something relevant. On my side I have to thank her in particular for the patience in revising my hectic holidays/sabbatical schedule. Beside this, she's also a nice and positive presence in our human environment." - Emiliano Catonini, PhD, Assistant Professor of Economics at ICEF

In Conclusion, Victoria has been an integral, and irreplaceable part of the fabric of HSE and ICEF. Her contribution to the university and its professional and academic life are immense, and most of all, her warmth and affection for her colleagues is genuinely valued and appreciated by all that have come across her. As such, I delighted and honoured to recommend Victoria for this award".
