Honorary Report by Dirk Berg-Schlosser

On April 6th Professor Dirk Berg-Schlosser delivered an honorary report at the HSE 11th International Conference on the Problems of Economic and Social Development. Video of the event added.

 

Dirk Berg-Schlosser is a political scientist, professor and Director of the Institute of Political Science at the Marburg University, Germany. He has taught and carried out research at the universities of Munich, Berkeley, Nairobi and Marburg.

From 1988 - 2000 Dirk Berg-Schlosser chaired the Research Committee on ‘Democratization in Comparative Perspective'of the International Political Science Association (IPSA). His research interests include political culture, empirical theory of democracy, the study of developing countries, comparative political science and comparative methodology.

His key publications include:Political Stability and Development, Political Culture in Germany, Perspektiven der Demokratie, Conditions of Democracy in Europe 1919-39 and Perspectives of Democratic Consolidation in Eastern Europe.
