Название доклада: Fair Division in the Talmud

Аннотация: 
In the Talmud (400 BC) three fair division problems - we call them bankruptcy problems -  are presented together with their solutions: there are three claimants with claims of 100, 200 and 300 respectively and a fair division is given for three different estates, without giving the common rationale for these divisions. Until recently, 1985, nobody had an idea of the common underlying division rule, if any. Interestingly, in 1985 Aumann and Maschler published their paper Game Theoretic Analysis of a Bankruptcy Problem from the Talmud in the Journal of Economic Theory 36, 195 - 213. In this paper they give a division rule which gives exactly the division prescribed by the Talmud in each of the three cases. We shall present this rule and call it the Talmud rule. As shown by Aumann and Maschler, this Talmud rule gives the nucleolus of the game that is associated with the given bankruptcy problem.
