Course Syllabus

Abstract

This course is designed to introduce students to key philosophical ideas and debates. The first module focuses on issues in Moral and Political Philosophy; the second module on issues in Metaphysics and Epistemology.

  • Introduction to Philosophy
    An introduction to philosophy through classic texts, focusing on problems in Moral and Political Philosophy, Metaphysics, Epistemology, and the Philosophy of Religion
Assessment Elements

Assessment Elements

  • non-blocking Exam
    The final exam will be a take-home exam consisting of questions requiring short answers (one or two paragraphs each). Students must turn in the exam in Ms Teams. The exam questions will be uploaded in MsTeams at least 24 hours before the deadline.
  • non-blocking Participation Module 1
    Each student is required to post a reading response on the website of the course, for a total of twelve reading responses
  • non-blocking Participation Module 2
    Each student should post a "reading response" on the website of the course before each seminar, for a total of 12 readings responses for the whole course
