Course Syllabus

Abstract

The course will give an overview of what corporate investment decisions involve. It will provide tools and techniques for an investment projects appraisal as well as for managing portfolios of investment projects. The course covers basic models of corporate capital valuation, including pricing models for primary financial assets, real assets valuation and investment projects analysis, capital structure. During the course, students will learn how to deal with risks associated with corporate investment decisions and how they affect project valuations. It will also prepare students to formulate and execute investment strategies and tactics to increase the value of business ventures. In-class exercises, group project as well as homework, case studies (including financial modelling in Excel) will demonstrate real-world applications of investment management concepts.
