Abstract

The course in Speech Practice is designed to advance students' competence in cross-cultural and cross-linguistic communication in line with the students' specialisation. It aims at developing students’ communicative competence in all skills and aspects beyond the C1 level. The course will enable the students to acquire skills required for corporate linguistic mediation and for interpreting and translation practices.

Learning Objectives

It aims to hone students' linguistic and crosscultural competence

Expected Learning Outcomes

students will be able to differentiate between two types of law and analyze cases
It enables students to discuss the way the American legal system is arranged
It enables students to discuss and evaluate the way the British legal system works
It enables students to debate current issues in the spheres of business and economics
Usage of active vocabulary and advanced grammar structures
Research & analysis skills (incl. usage of traditional search engines and AI)
Creative delivery skills
It will enable students to discern types of cyber crimes and the ways to be protected from them
