  • Political and geopolitical factors and problems of international tourism development
Geography, political issues and economic trends are closely associated with tourism and affect its quality and quantity. Tourism has an impact on the environment, culture, art, lifestyle, relationships, beliefs, politics, economics and community development and can lead to changes in the economic and political attitudes of societies.
  • Economic factors, social and economic trends of international tourism development. Sustainable tourism.
Sustainable tourism goals are usually now seen as adaptable according to the circumstances of different contexts and changing circumstances over time. It is also increasingly regarded as relevant for all forms of tourism, regardless of whether it is small- or large-scale.
  • Ecological problems and their impact on international tourism development. Responsible tourism.
Responsible tourism is a term that can be used to describe many different kinds of tourism, for example; fair trade tourism, green tourism, sustainable tourism, ecotourism and alternative tourism.
  • Demographic factors, problems and trends of international tourism development. Accessible tourism.
However, tourism is not only impacted by demographic changes. Many other factors also impact on trends in tourism reflected in supply and demand (e.g. climate change, energy prices and the development of transport links).
  • Technological factors and perspectives of international tourism development. Virtual tourism, e-tourism, m-tourism.
In the global context of information and communications technology development, the tourism industry is changing more and more as consumers tend to be more attracted to this issue as a result of technology facilities.
  • Social and cultural trends and perspectives of international tourism development in the period of post-modernity. Post-tourism.
New forms of tourism have been emerging, which have the potential to replace or at least change the already existing forms and fundamental tourism structures. A new type of tourism demand has significantly changed the nature of tourism offer. The alterations in the tourism offer and demand and the mere nature of the tourism product are usually associated with the concept of the post-tourist.
  • Cultural tourism, cultural heritage and intercultural communication: problems of interaction and perspectives of development.
Developments and Perspectives in Cultural Tourism ResearchRichards, G. and Munsters, W. (2010, eds) Cultural Tourism Research Methods. Wallingford: CABI.Greg Richards and Wil MunstersIntroductionCultural tourism is one of the oldest forms of travel, and still continues to be a mainstay of the tourism industry in most parts of the world. Much cultural tourism research today concentrates on the qualitative nature of the experience and impact of cultural tourism, both for the tourists themselves as well as the places and peoples they visit.
