Course Syllabus
Abstract
The course addresses issues multinational companies face in the complexity of operating across borders. As the modern turbulent business world becomes a more challenging place to operate internationally it is necessary to educate students in contemporary tools of global environment analysis and global strategy formulation to supply the necessary skills of taking advantage of global business opportunities. The course provides a general overview of the major areas of international business including National Differences in Political, Economic, and Legal Systems; Ethics, CSR and Sustainability; Investment Environment; Government Policy and International; FDI and Regional Economic Integration; Global Monetary System; Strategy and Structure of International Business; International Business Functions. The successful completion of the course will increase students’ ability to think globally about any company, its positioning on international markets to achieve sustainable competitive advantage in rapidly changing international environment
Learning Objectives
- The main goal of the course is to provide a systematic view on international business environment, to empower the students with critical skills and abilities, conceptual foundations and competences required for professional activity on global markets.
Expected Learning Outcomes
- • Able to provide a summary of the special features of the phenomenon of globalisation
- • Able to demonstrate skills in distinguishing between national differences across countries when making decisions
- • Able to apply the concepts of international trade theory when solving research and professional problems
- Able to use the knowledge of international monetary system to make decisions
- • Able to solve managerial issues in an international organization related to strategic and organizational aspects
- • Able to effectively perform managerial functions and solve managerial tasks related to the main business functions in the global context
