Course Syllabus
Abstract
The course is aimed at acquirement basic knowledge and competences of modern Spanish language, including phonetics, graphics, normative grammar and vocabulary in the amount provided by the course. The course consists of tutorials (112 hours). Tutorials or practice run provide students with basic knowledge of phonetics, intonation, pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary of modern German and focus on practical activities and exercises as well as project work. The tutorials also involve feedback on students’ written work, aimed at developing basic linguistic knowledge and practical skills of German, presenting the project results and home-reading in the written and oral forms.

Assessment Elements
- Activity of participation+ Module testsActivity of participation, contribution to work at classes, answering questions, performing individual and group practical assignments: homework, oral performing (topics, dialogues…), written works at class, home reading (books and video materials). Module Test: The test is carried out at the end of each module. 1.5 hours duration. Written test including vocabulary and grammar assignments.
- Written AssignmentsWritten Assignments (letters, small essays (10-12 sentences, 100-120 words), performed by students independently in extracurricular time for assessment.
- Project workProject work involves the creation of a presentation - individually or in a group. Each presentation should have 3-4 slides with brief information. The student freely talks about the material using her presentation. 5-7 minutes are given for the performance.
- Final test (Exam) + Oral answer (Exam)FINAL TEST: An examination test takes place 5-10 days before the oral part of the exam. The test includes reading, grammar, vocabulary and writing parts. 1.5 hours for the test. Exam format: teacher in class, students in class / multiple classrooms and online. With the use of online platforms (Zoom/ MS Teams / Skype etc.) for students who have grounds for not being on the exam in person. The written part of the exam is held on the online platform. You must connect to the exam according to the time and date specified in the LMS. To participate in the exam, the student is obliged: to indicate their name at the beginning and end of the test, to appear for the exam according to the exact schedule. During the exam, students are forbidden to: communicate (on social networks, with people in the room), use notes and tips, write them off. During the exam, students are allowed to: use a blank Word sheet to record a short answer. A short-term communication disruption during the exam is considered a communication disruption up to 10 minutes. A long-term communication disorder during an exam is considered a violation of 10 minutes or more. In case of a long-term communication disruption, the student cannot continue to participate in the exam. Retake procedure involves using complicated tasks ORAL ANSWER: The oral part of the exam is on tickets (a survey on the course materials). On the oral part of the exam, the student pulls out a ticket in which two questions are given. 5-7 minutes are given for preparation. The teacher has the right to ask additional questions. Exam format: teacher in class, students in class / multiple classrooms and online. With the use of online platforms (Zoom/ MS Teams / Skype etc.) for students who have grounds for not being on the exam in person. The student's computer must meet the requirements: the presence of a working camera and microphone, support for online platform. To participate in the exam, the student is obliged: to put his photo on the avatar, to appear for the exam according to the exact schedule, and when you answer, turn on the camera and microphone. During the exam, students are forbidden to: communicate (on social networks, with people in the room), use notes and tips, write them off. During the exam, students are allowed to: use a blank Word sheet to record a short answer. A short-term communication failure during the exam is considered a communication failure of less than a minute. A long-term communication disruption during an exam is a violation of a minute or more. In case of a long-term communication disruption, the student cannot continue to participate in the exam. The retake procedure involves the use of complicated tasks.
