This two-module course is designed for students interested in state of the art techniques in strategic IT management. It introduces students to the key concepts related to a company: its mission, goals, processes and models of business, information and technology. Theoretical and practical cases used in the course show how a company can gain a sustainable competitive advantage by means of Information Technology (Strategic alignment model, models of Porter's 5 forces and value added chain through particular cases of Accenture, Dropbox, etc).
The course provides an overview of the ways to sketch, plan and build the Enterprise Architecture of the company and delivers the main methodologies for constructing the EA (Zachman, DODAF, TOGAF). At the end of the course the students are introduced to the Service-Oriented type of Architecture (SOA) and perspective cloud architectures.
