Application of Decentralized and Distributed Technologies in Selective Industry

Decentralized and distributed technologies were firstly introduced a relatively long time ago. However, for the first time, in 2008, the real decentralized and distributed network with consensus was introduced. Since then researchers, start- ups, companies and others are trying to come up with the use cases how these technologies should be implemented in order to be beneficial. The aim of the diploma thesis is to clarify and demonstrate what are the decentralized and distributed technologies and how they can be used in life science industry. The objective is to create a specific practical example and show the usage of these technologies to increase efficiency in decision making, automate the processes, bring trust into the business network, costs reduction and increase competitiveness. The result of the work is summarized and analysed theoretical knowledge about the current situation of decentralized and distributed technologies as well as their usage in life science industry. The main contribution is proposed business blockchain network model. The work can serve both to junior and senior employees, managers, blockchain developers and IT people from life science industry as a first step for usage of the latest and emerging technological trends in their organizations.
