On November 29 the seminar 'What’s Next?: The Relations between Russia and the West in a Time of Uncertainty?' will be held at HSE University.

Speakers:

Marlene Laruelle
Ph.D., is a Director and Research Professor at the Institute for European, Russian and Eurasian Studies (IERES), Elliott School of International Affairs, The George Washington University. At IERES, she is also Director of the Illiberalism Studies Program, Co-Director of PONARS (Program on New Approaches to Research and Security in Eurasia), and Director of GW's Central Asia Program. She is also leading the Democracy Studies specialization of the MA in International Affairs. She has been teaching Populism and Illiberalism, The Rise of the Far Right, Politics of the Post-Soviet Space, Nationalism and Nationbuilding in Eurasia, Central Asia between East and West.

Editor-in-chief of the journal "Russia in Global Affairs" since its foundation in 2002. Chairman of the Presidium of the Council for Foreign and Defense Policy of Russia since 2012. Member of the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) Presidium. Scientific Director of the Valdai International Discussion Club. Author of numerous publications on the problems of modern international relations and Russian foreign policy. Research Professor at the National Research University Higher School of Economics.
