‘Advertising and PR’ and ‘Integrated communications’ programmes accredited by the ARCA

The Association of Russian Communication Agencies has given full accreditation to the ‘Advertising and PR’ bachelor’s and master’s educational programmes of the Faculty of Communications, Media and Design of the Higher School of Economics. The ‘Advertising and PR’ and ‘Integrated communications’ programmes were audited in October of 2018.

HSE graduates who now work in the communications industry were invited to attend the meeting with ARCA. Among them were BA programme graduates Ilya Shichanin, Maria Sanina and Anastasia Peskova; MA programme graduates Olga Solovieva, Ekaterina Krechetova and Olga Rebechenko; as well as prospective employers and current students. Among the topics of discussion were the benefits of these educational programmes, the peculiarities of a research and study end-to-end course, employment and future development and cooperation plans.

The main goal of these educational programmes is to give high-quality professional training to bachelor’s and master’s degree graduates in the field of communications; specialists who have studied the theoretical and practical aspects of mass media and niche communications; specialists well versed in the latest media, advertising and PR technologies, as well as technologies that let you create and control media content. And as our in-depth audit has shown, the leaders, professors and mentors of this department excel in achieving this goal.

Anna Mezinova, Vasyli Vinogradov and Ksenia Semochkina are the SRW 2017 winners

The master’s degree graduates won the first three prizes in the ‘Best research work in integrated communications by the MA students and graduates of 2017’ category.

The results of the Student Research Work competition (SRW) have just been published online. The winner in the ‘Best research work in integrated communications by the MA students and graduates of 2017’ category was Anna Mezinova, an MA graduate (scientific director - Olga Logunova). Anna conducted her research on the Higher School of Economics logo.

The ‘Integrated communications’ MA graduates also won the second and third prizes. Vasyli Vinogradov (scientific director – Oleg Kashirskikh) studied the influence of visual identity on brand recognition. And bronze winner Ksenia Semochkina (scientific director – Olga Logunova) chose the collective action frame of Moscow’s social movements as her topic of research. Another competition laureate Ivan Chernyavski (scientific director – Oleg Kashirskikh) studied the influence of media frames on the jury verdicts of Russian court.

Even though our curriculum has a more practical application, the research component is also the focal point of our master’s programme. We make a conscious effort to offer the best conditions for our students to acquire practical research skills as that gives them a competitive edge on the communications job market.
