Biology and Biotechnology Faculty Students Participated in a Summer Biotechnology School in Brussels

VUB Biotech Summer School - summer school on biotechnology, organized by the Free University of Brussels, was held in Brussels, Belgium from 8.08 to 19.08. Students of Cell and Molecular Biotechnology Darya Surkova and Anna Shestakova participated in VUB Biotech Summer School.

For two weeks, they learned about modern trends in biotechnology research, attended lectures and seminars, and worked in laboratories with scientists from the university.Daria Surkova: 'I am very glad that I was able to take part in such a school. It is an invaluable experience and an opportunity to figure out what you really like and whether you want to do science. For guys who don't fully understand what they like and what path to take, I would definitely recommend trying to go to school next year. And it is also a great opportunity to check your level of training - despite all the variety of research and methods we were told about, I felt absolutely free and comfortable in all classes. In addition, Anya and I beat all the participants from European universities and won the biochemistry quiz - especially nice, because it shows the quality of our education.'
