HSE Team Wins Student Information Security Competition
On November 10-11, the finals of the Moscow Capture the Flag interuniversity student competition in information security (M*CTF) took place in Russia. The winning team was Shadow Servants, which included students from the HSE Faculty of Computer Science and MIEM. This is the third year in a row that Shadow Servants has won M*CTF. Their next step is the 2018 Russian CTF Cup, which will take place between November 30 and December 1 at the Skolkovo Innovation Centre.

HSE Student Qualifies for the First Time for EU Contest for Young Scientists
First-year student of the Bachelor’s programme in Computer Security at MIEM HSE, Andrey Schebetov, has joined the team that will represent the Russian Federation at the EU Contest for Young Scientists (EUCYS).
HSE Students Hold Information Security Competition
Competitions in information security were organized at HSE by the student group, HSE InfoSec, with the support of FBK CyberSecurity and the Student Initiative Support Centre. They were run in CTF format.

First International Data Analysis Olympiad Held in Moscow
On April 4, the winners of the First International Data Analysis Olympiad (IDAO) were announced. The event was organized by the HSE Faculty of Computer Science, Yandex, and Harbour.Space University (Barcelona) with the support of Sberbank. Magic City team from St. Petersburg took out first prize, a team from the Ukraine came second, and the Apex team from Belarus came third.
How the State Scholarship Students Can Get an HSE Bank Card
Starting from June 30th, 2018, HSE undergraduate, master’s and doctoral students will be able to get their state scholarships only with their MIR cards. There are three ways to reissue the card, including getting a unique HSE-designed card. The main thing to remember is that, no matter which way you choose, you need to finalize everything by June 30th, 2018.

MIEM HSE and Rightech have signed an agreement outlining the company’s involvement in HSE’s new master’s programme ‘Internet of Things and Cyber-physical Systems’. Rightech will allocate grants to the five top applicants to go towards their studies.
