Do you have some knowledge of Russian but want to hone your skills and speak like a ‘real Russian’? If so, faculty members and instructors of the HSE School of Linguistics have worked together to create a free online resource just for you. Как скажешь (‘If You Say So’), which will launch April 4, is a virtual textbook and workbook built around video clips that feature HSE faculty and students.

On March 1st the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Russia held the Ceremony in Lotte hotel in honor of 100 years anniversary of March 1st movement for independence of Korea as well as the scientific conference dedicated to this important event. Students of the Korean department and teachers of the  program "Economy and Politics in Asia" were invited to this event. The Head of School of Foreign Regional Studies, the Deputy Academic Supervisor of the program Vera Vishnyakova presented the report on "Declarations of Independence of Korea through a Prism of Values and Estimates" at the scientific conference.

People have already submitted their applications to Master’s and Bachelor’s programmes at HSE University. So far, students from 113 countries have expressed their interest in studying at HSE University. For the 2019/2020 academic year, HSE University is offering 10 Bachelor’s programmes and 31 Master’s programmes taught entirely in English. The strongest applicants will be eligible for full or partial scholarships. For Master’s programmes, applications will be evaluated on the strength of the portfolios that can be submitted online via an applicant’s personal account on HSE University’s website.

On February 28 Alexander Golovlev's (the research associate of the International center of history and sociology of World War II and its consequences of HSE) interactive lecture "Historical geography as the applied tool in political science, sociology and economy" took place within the meeting of Student Research Society "Economy and Politics of Asia"

HSE University has taken 22^nd place in THE Emerging Economies Rankings, improving its position from last year. This ranking includes a total of 35 Russian universities, with 18 of them participating in the 5-100 Project.

On November 13-15 Anastasia Likhacheva, Deputy Dean for Research and Deputy Director of CCEIS, held a series of lectures at a number of leading American think tanks and academic institutions.

On the 7^th of November, 2018 the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs of the Higher School of Economics held the grand opening ceremony of HSE and Kyung Hee University Double Degree Programme "Economics and Politics in Asia" and the Professors´and Students´ Club "Korea Corner". The Vice President of Kyung Hee University (Seoul, Republic of Korea), Mr. Khang Gon, and the Dean of the College of International Studies of Kyung Hee University Mr. Moon Don arrived to Russia to attend this event.

For the second year in a row, the Higher School of Economics has improved its position in the QS EECA Rankings, placing 23^rd among universities from emerging European and Central Asian countries.
