Polina Novikova conducted history lessons in Tallinn Linnamäe Russian Lyceum

Our student of the educational programme “International Relations” Novikova Polina, as part of her pre-graduation practice, conducted history lessons in her native Tallinn Linnamäe Russian Lyceum.

Polina is originally from Tallinn, so during her pre-graduation practice she decided to try herself as a teacher at the Linnamäe Russian Lyceum, where she studied from grades 1 to 12. During the lessons, Polina not only shared her knowledge of history gained while studying at the International Relations program, but also talked about studying at our faculty and choosing a direction after graduation, which is especially exciting for high school students.

On April 19, 2022, the student spent 4 lessons at the Lyceum. During the lessons, the high school students not only listened attentively and took notes, but also asked many questions and asked about Polina's personal experience of entering.

One of the students whom Polina taught a lesson shared her impressions: “In my opinion, Polina did a very good job with the lesson. I really liked the simple and understandable presentation of historical material. She is well versed in history, and it seemed to me that she herself wanted to teach us something new. Polina also spoke about studying at the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs of the Higher School of Economics. We were all interested to hear about studying in Russia. Perhaps some of the guys will even follow in the footsteps of Polina” – Anastasia Kuligina, 11-A grade.

Polina also spoke about her emotions from the meetings: “The opportunity to be a teacher is a very important lesson for me. At the end of the training, one way or another, you think about how to further build your life. During the lessons, I once again thought about the fact that I like sharing knowledge almost the same as receiving it. Now I do not exclude that, perhaps, one day I will really become a teacher, because there is nothing better than looking at the burning eyes of young guys who listen carefully and listen to everything you say“.
