Achievements of our students

Volunteering work

Our undergraduates participate in volunteering work within the university community, acting as hosts at the meetings of English Debating Society for high school students and doingsome work during annual career events supported by rabota.ru  online service.

Shakespeare festival "The Man for All Times"

The festival was a part of the UK-Russia Year of Language and Literature 2016. Our students listened to lectures and took part in workshops, watched films and learned Shakespeare’ssonnets by heart, attended British Council events, shot videos and made posters inspired by Shakespeare’s works.

English is the major language taught at the School of Foreign Languages and the required course for all students to take, but both academic and social events in other foreign languages are widely popular as well.

Annual student conference ‘Foreign Languages and Intercultural Communication: Current Development Vectors and Prospects'

The annual student conference ‘Foreign Languages and Intercultural Communication: Current Development Vectors and Prospects' has been held by the School of Foreign Languages since 2016.  The departments of German and French host their respective conferences annually as well. These conventions unite future linguists and well-known experts in the field in lively discussions of topical themes and current issues in linguistics and intercultural communication

Campus Life

Besides a busy academic schedule, we offer our students a socially rich campus life. Our numerous social activities and events may reveal your hidden potential as a musician, actor, stage director or a standup comedian. One of such occasions is our annual colourful and joyous Novemberfest festival, a joint effort of the first-year students, with some support on the part of other undergraduates. No less colourful festivities we have in spring during our traditional multicultural Global Villageevent, with our students performing folk dances and songs from a variety of ethnicities, and cooking and eating traditional food from various countries.
