Introduction to the Profession of a Cognitive Neurobiologist
Learning to Test Involuntary Attention by Eye Movements and Noise Resistance by Reaction Time

On May 15, 2025, lecturers of the Cognitive Neuroscience Bachelor's program of the HSE Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology held a Faculty Day for 10th-grade students of the HSE Lyceum's natural sciences program as part of the Introduction to the Profession program. Students learned about methods for studying human cognitive functions, such as eye tracking (registering eye movements) and psychophysiological tests. Using special glasses with a built-in infrared camera, it was possible to track areas of interest when viewing images and videos: what a person looks at most, concentrating attention and involuntarily. Lyceum students also tested their individual abilities for visual noise resistance and other features of cognitive functions using psychophysiological testing.
