After the winter holidays, it's time to get fit. HSE Life tells you about the sport facilities now available at HSE University campus on Pokrovka.

Gym

Gyms have recently opened in buildings S and T. The gym for faculty and staff is located in room S016 (the passage through the hall of the utility floor). It is open all week from 12:00 to 22:00. The equipment is mainly aimed at cardio training, as well as general physical and emotional recreation. There are treadmills, exercise bikes, and ellipiticals.

More weights training equipment is located in the student gym (room T 203), which can also be used by faculty and staff. In addition to cardio machines, there is everything you need for basic exercises: bench press, barbells, squat racks, and free weights. The gym is open from Monday to Friday from 12:00 to 22:00 and on Saturday from 12:00 to 20:00.

An experienced coach is available in the gym to answer  any questions about the equipment or  exercise techniques. To use the sports facilities, you need a medical certificate indicating your health status.

Yoga, Stretching and Dancing

The dance hall of the Cultural Centre hosts HSE Dance classes and training sessions from Monday to Sunday. You can start the day with yoga, work on your flexibility, or learn new dance styles - vogue, Latin, jazz-funk, or hip-hop— for free during your study or work breaks.

Your training level does not matter. The current schedule is posted on the student group page. Usually, registration is required for each class, but all sessions are open until the end of January.

Contemporary dance at Sona Ovsepyan Studio

You can dive into the world of modern choreography, work on your grace and learn to improvise with a professional choreographer at the Cultural Centre’s dance hall.
Contemporary dance is a trend considered to have been created by Isadora Duncan. She believed that the main objective of dance is to express your inner voice with the help of your body.

The contemporary dance  group is currently being formed. Classes will begin in February and will be held on Mondays and Fridays at 19:00. No special training is required. If you plan to attend the classes, please register by phone: 8 (919) 727 83 00.

Table tennis

If you want to have fun and train your reflexes , come to the ping-pong hall, which is located on the ground floor of building Z. It is open all week from 12:00 to 22:00—no registration required. Rackets and balls are available in the hall.
