Nowadays telecommunication systems play a crucial role in everyday life. Therefore understanding of the fundamental principles underlying  these systems' operation  is of great importance. In  computer science  the problem of modern telecommunication systems operation description is solved by introducing a set of mathematical models (both relatively  simple and sophisticated) representing operation of the systems in question. Within the scope of this course some of the most important mathematical models are considered.
