Abstract
Дисциплина направлена на изучение роли интермодальных транспортных услуг в современной логистике и цепях поставок, принципов управления интермодальной транспортировкой. Изучение дисциплины дает дополнительные знания в области современных транспортных систем, а также способствует развитию навыков профессионального общения на английском языке The cource is aimed at learning of the role of intermodal transportation in modern logistics and supply chains and the principles of intermodal transportation management. The cource provedes additional knowledge on vodern transport swstems and encourages the imrovement of professional discussion in English skills
Learning Objectives
- Получение фундаментальных знаний в области интермодальной транспортировки, необходимых для успешной работы в сфере логистики и УЦП Getting the fundamental knowledge on modern intermodal transportation necessary for successful business in logistics and supply chains management
Expected Learning Outcomes
- Knowledge of factors that had determined the creation and development of the Intermodal concept
- Knowledge of of principal ideas of intermodal transportation and the basic models of intermodal transport services
- Knowledge of global container system components and its role in contemporary economy. Knowledge of main container types and container technologies
- Knowledge of intermodal corridors and terminals' parameters, description of their functions in the transport system and supply chains
- Understanding of transport modes' advantages important for intermodal transportation. Knowledge of modes' interoperation principles. Understanding of ecologic priorities and their influence over intermodal transport development

- Intermodal concept prerequisitesStages of transport system development and evolution of requirements to transportation. General prerequisites of multimodal approach development. Changes in transport system at the period of logistics and supply chains development
- Multimodal and Intermodal transport: principle models and basic ideasBasic terms and definitions. "Ocean" and "Continental" models of intermodal transport services. Utilization of "Ocean" and "Continental" models in economic systems. Interoperation of the two models
- Global container systemContainerization and intermodalism. Container types and supply chains' containerization. Integration of container technologies and logistic technologies. Containerization and globalization
- Infrastructure of intermodal transportationIntermodal transport corridors. Intermodal terminals and their functions. Terminal equipment. Intermodal terminals' operators
- Transport modes' role in intermodal transportationTransport modes' functions within the "Ocean" and "Continental" models of intermodalism. Green logistics and intermodal transport development
