Job Prospects for Social Work Graduates in Their Specialisation

The work is devoted to the analysis of factors affecting the employment of graduates of higher educational institutions in the field of “Social Work” in Russia. The study is aimed at identifying the reasons for the low proportion of employment in the specialty, as well as the development of measures to improve the situation in the social sphere. The relevance of the topic is due to the increasing need for qualified social workers against the background of demographic changes, such as the aging of the population, and government initiatives to support vulnerable groups. The paper uses methods of theoretical analysis of the legal framework, scientific literature and statistical data, as well as empirical methods, including probit analysis and cluster analysis. The information base of the study was the monitoring of graduate employment and statistical materials of the Federal State Statistics Service. As a result of the study on the basis of the identified factors and international experience the recommendations are offered a set of individual and system proposals. The work consists of an introduction, three chapters, conclusion and appendices. The theoretical significance of the work is manifested in the identification of regional peculiarities of the study of the labor market of social workers and the identification of the most significant problems, as well as the assessment of foreign practices of support for social workers, practical - in the development of measures to improve personnel policy and adaptation of educational programs to the requirements of the labor market. The results can be used by government agencies, educational institutions and employers to increase the attractiveness of the profession and reduce the outflow of graduates from the social sphere.
