The Peculiarities of EU Regional Policy towards Southern European Countries (on the Example of Italy)

The graduation paper is dedicated to the EU regional policy aimed at eliminating disparities in socio-economic development of the regions of the Union. The purpose of the research is to identify the peculiarities of the EU regional policy towards the countries of the Southern Europe (on the example of Italy). The paper examines the evolution of the EU regional policy with a special attention to the role and position of Italy in it. The practical implementation of the EU regional policy measures in Italy in 2007-2013 is scrutinized. Taking into account the findings reported during research, the author considers the applicability of the European experience to the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
