Many scientists emphasize the rapid escalation of BRICS economies, particularly Brazil, Russian Federation, India, China and South Africa, on the world stage. This union may initiate the onset of a new epoch of international relationships development. Some developed countries believe that Russia is worth engaging in BRICS as our country remains behind European Union and OECD countries due to low living standards, poor conditions for business conducting and innovation activity level. However many countries even do not think that Russia may become a full member of BRICS forum because there is still a huge gap between Russia and Brazil, India and China. This paper is focused on BRICS countries’ economies comparison and determination of major risks and opportunities of Russia’s economic cooperation within BRICS.
