This research is devoted to German industrial policy and its impact on manufacturing industry, namely on mechanical engineering, automobile industry, electrical engineering and chemical industry. This paper provides comparative analysis of German manufacturing industry in comparison with its main competitors on the world market. This analysis allowed to discover strengths and weaknesses of the German economy. In order to implement the analysis statistical dataset and multidimensional analysis in statistical program SPSS were used. This paper contains overview of measures of industrial policy over the period from 2000 to 2014 and valuation of efficiency of these measures. The valuation of efficiency was carried out on the basis of statistical dataset, exploration of survey of industrialists and paired samples t-test analysis in SPSS.In the course of the research the author came to the conclusion, that German industrial policy as a whole is effective, but different arrears need different degree of government intervention. The most significant achievements were received in research and development. In this sphere government regulation prove its value, as it allows to avoid market failures as lack of investments in science intensive enterprises. There were implemented significant steps in decrease of government intervention in market processes in areas of taxation, labor market and startups. These measures were relatively effective but there were no significant changes in these arrears. Thereby, the government of Germany should save the direction of industrial policy, but at the same time take more radical steps in reducing of government intervention in overregulated spheres.
