OstrovskayaThe research paper “The today’s role of the Asia-Pacific Region in the Russian foreign-economic strategy” is aimed at defining the significance of the Asia-Pacific Region in the Russian external economic policy. The author examines the possible ways of Russia’s integration into Asia-Pacific region. The research is carried out in the light of the recent political events currently taking place in Ukraine and their influence on the Russian place in the world affairs. The paper touches upon the major political and economic theories of integration and the peculiarities of Asian integration processes. It is done the analysis of basic co-operation spheres between Russia and APR countries, especially the sphere of trading. Throughout the paper the author tries to identify possible benefits and losses within the cooperation of Russia and APR. By the end of the research paper the author finds Russia to have a huge potential for the future economic partnership in the Region. Moreover, the Russian party has already done some steps on the way of integration to APR. However, the pace of the relation development between parties remains low.
