Impact of the WTO Accession for Russian Chemical Industry

This paper is devoted to analysis of the impact of WTO membership for the chemical industry. The author suggests a hypothesis about the likely positive aggregate effect of WTO accession with positive and negative consequences at the same time. Analyzing the position and trends of the chemical industry before and after WTO accession, trade barriers applied by other countries to Russian chemicals export, WTO conditions and tariff concessions, the author concludes that the hypothesis is confirmed.
