This paper sets to examine the political cooperation of Russia and China in the international arena at the beginning of the XXI century. China is one of the large countries located in the Asia-Pacific Region (APR), with which are connected development prospects of not only Russia but also the whole world community. The Russian–Chinese relations are the most dynamic aspects of global cooperation today. Cooperation between Russia and China in the international arena needs to be studied continuously, which is of great theoretical and practical significance for analyzing the contemporary international situation. This paper tries to analyse the main directions of cooperation between China and Russia at the beginning of the XXI century, and presents the concepts of this interaction proposed by both parties, taking into account the national interests and the strategic partnership of the two countries.
