In a situation where the EU is undergoing major transformation of the energy market, the commercial interests of OAO "Gazprom" are directly affected by the consequences of the third stage of liberalization of the European gas industry. In this paper, according to the tradition of neo-institutional rational choice theory, Gazprom strategy of interest representation in the European Union will be analyzed on the basis of structural constraints, defined by the internal dynamics of the political process in the EU.
