In the study we define the specifics, as well as the conditions and factors of efficiency of use of new media in political communication. In the master's degree work we pay a lot of attention to the nature and the dynamic characteristics of electoral behavior in Russia in terms of the transformation process of the electoral communication.

In our research we conduct a comparative analysis of the new media implementation during the 2012 presidential elections in the United States and Russia. The study showed that the degree of the presence of new media in the political field in Russia is lower than in the United States and other countries with developed democracy, because the most basic instruments of pre-election struggle in the new media are not used effectively in the Russian Federation. According to the survey, we can say that a lot of attention is still given to television advertising and traditional media campaign communications, the Internet also serves as a platform for discussion between supporters of different candidates, but not for full-fledged campaigning of candidates. In our view, only a gradual development of new technologies will lead the Russian political system to full penetration of new media on the political services market.

Master's thesis contains ninety seven pages, twenty-one drawing, one scheme, two tables, and seventy seven sources.
