<p>In the graduate work there is the investigation of the role of the sports and event-marketing in the implementation of modern trends of cities and regions development. The theoretical part contains theoretical and methodological base of the research of sport and event-marketing. The practical part is devoted to major international sports events such as the Olympic and Paralympic games, Universiade-2013 in Kazan, which is no longer just the competition of the best athlets in the world, now it is the creation of image, reputation, brands of the host cities, attraction the attention of the global audience. At the end of work there are results regarding the appropriate use of the sports and event marketing for the territories' development and promotion of their brands.</p>
