The annotation for a diplomaWith the topic of "The transformation of journalist’s profession in the atmosphere of convergence culture. WikiLeaks as a stimulator of development"Chirskova Tatyana SergeevnaFaculty of media communicationsGroup 445jThis work is a research of many different topics, the main of them being a journalism itself or to speak more precisely – the future of journalist profession in terms of convergent culture. The research is built on studying the work of journalists who created the WikiLeaks web-site and also its representation of their activities shown in a cinematographic feature film. The main objective of the research was to determine the key aspects of changes happening in journalism in terms of convergent culture, the reasons behind these changes and their consequences and also their influence on the quality of information in modern culture. The tasks for the research were the following:1) To determine the role of journalism in the web. 2) To determine the role of WikiLeaks web-site in the world information field.3) To find out the common reaction of the government and society towards the WikiLeaks web-site.4) To analyze the film «The Fifth Estate» as a result of a feature reception of the major changes of informational field. As for the hypothesis of the research, the main thesis is that soon “a new journalism” of Julian Assange will replace the current journalism. The main objective of this work is to find a better way for developing the journalist profession based on the performances of the WikiLeaks, its beginnings and influencing the media. The methods of the research were mostly theoretical: a comparative analysis of the different information genres, an analysis of the descriptions of the web culture and the analysis of the representations of social and cultural changes. During the work only one practical method was used – an anonymous poll among the social network users to understand their attitude towards modern media and a problem of “new journalism”.The research is also based on some other works like Henry Jenkins’ “Convergent culture” and Alexander Markov’s experiment of Collective Intelligence. In the conclusion of the study all the aspects of the problem are listed including:1) The web media should proclaim itself independent from all the other media for the society to be free from the control of the servers and information interception. 2) This is also a way of the collective organization as a common organism which has its own inner regularities.3) The journalism could become more of an ideal if it follows Assange’s team steps. 4) And Russian media like the web media should also distance themselves from the government and follow its own way as most of the people already don’t trust the information they’re told on TV.
