The theme of graduation paper is “The status and function of the subplot conflicts in dramatic art of Russian entertaining TV-shows of the 2000-10s (on the example of TV-shows "Vyshka", "Hochu V VIA Gru", "Minuta slavi. Doroga na Olimp!")”.

The aim of research paper is to determine the status and function of the subplot conflicts in dramatic art of Russian entertaining TV-shows on the example of TV-shows "Vyshka", "Hochu V VIA Gru", "Minuta slavi. Doroga na Olimp!"

The major tasks of the research were to determine the role and the place of conflicts in drama, to determine the place of the subplot conflicts in system of the drama conflicts, to determine the features of the entertaining TV-show format, to determine the status of the subplot conflict and the tendency in use of the subplot conflicts in dramatic art of entertainment TV-shows, to provide a classification of the subplot conflicts in dramatic art of entertainment TV-shows.

At the beginning of research a hypothesis was put forward – the subplot conflicts became an obligatory component of dramatic art of entertaining TV-shows, carry out support function, strengthening the main conflict and help to develop to the main drama plot of show.

The main methods, which are used in the research, are structural analysis, analisis of content, tipologization and comparative analysis.

For this research 6 Russian entertaining TV-shows were chosen. Three of them were broadcast in previous TV-season – "Vyshka", "Hochu V VIA Gru", "Minuta slavi. Doroga na Olimp!" Two of them were premieres, TV-show “Minuta slavi” has 8 seasons on the whole. Another three TV-shows are “Korol ringa” , “Hochu V VIA Gru” and “Narodnij artist-3”. This shows were compared with "Vyshka", "Hochu V VIA Gru", "Minuta slavi. Doroga na Olimp!"

As a result of research we found out that subplot conflicts became an essential element of dramatic art of entertaining TV-shows. They carry out support function, strengthening the main conflict and help to develop the main plot of show. Another strong cause why subplot conflicts are used is that they help to keep the audience in suspense. In cases when TV program format is well known and audience know how most probably show will develop, subplot conflicts help to create necessary dynamics.

Also as a result of research we revealed that subplot conflicts in dramatic art of entertaining TV-shows are used more often than it was in previous TV-seasons.

Moreover, the study has demonstrated that subplot conflicts can be divided into several groups and the classification of such conflicts can be provided. So we can draw a conclusion that the hypothesis, which was set up at the beginning of this graduation paper, is proved.
