Influence of Liquidity-Saving Mechanisms on Large-Value Payment Systems

<p><span lang="EN-US" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;">The payment system has become considerably more complex due to </span><span lang="EN-US" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;">financial innovation, technological improvement and financial interdependencies. While such changes are inevitably connected with prosperity and economic growth, they are also accompanied by certain consequences including systemic risk. That is why the Central Banks monitor payment risks and try to reduce or even eliminate the possibility of liquidity</span><span style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;">&nbsp;violations of the payment processes.&nbsp;</span></p><p><span style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;">&nbsp;</span><span style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;">The main goal of this paper is to provide some theoretical issues about payment systems and liquidity risk, to analyse the influence of liquidity-saving mechanisms on large-value payment systems.</span></p><p class="Default" style="text-align:justify;text-justify:inter-ideograph;line-height:150%"><span lang="EN-US"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
