Complex analysis of the share price of "Novatek" company on the basis of technical and fundamental analysis

<p>Bachelor&#39;s Thesis entitled &quot;Comprehensive analysis of shareholder value &ldquo;Novatek&rdquo; on the basis of technical and fundamental analysis&quot; contains 14 graphs, 13 tables, 3 histograms and 4 appendixes. Volume of final qualifying work is 68 pages. 49 sources are used. Keywords: fundamental analysis, technical analysis, the Russian stock market, modeling share prices, oil and gas industry, company OAO &ldquo;Novatek&rdquo;.</p><p>When trading in the stock market there is a need in choosing an effective method for predicting the value of the security. There are two classical methods: fundamental and technical. In the context of Russian realities this question becomes particularly relevant.</p><p>Thus, the aim of this paper is to study the applicability of these types of analysis on the Russian stock market. The research is conducted on the example of the company &ldquo;Novatek&rdquo;, so the object of the study is the shares of this company for their &ldquo;compliance&rdquo; to the standard methods of security analysis.</p><p>As the review of the literature on the studied issue it is found that a lot of foreign works are devoted to the development of new approaches to application of technical and fundamental analysis on specific stock markets. However, the Russian market due to its low level of capitalization does not cause much interest. The theoretical significance of the work is to identify the existing difficulties in applying classical methods of analysis in the Russian reality, as well as to conduct versatile comparative analysis of fundamental and technical approaches. Practical significance lies in formation of the investor strategy in terms of &ldquo;Novatek&rdquo; shares or related oil and gas issuers.</p><p>The first chapter describes the principles, tools and features of fundamental and technical analysis. The second chapter presents a comparative analysis of these approaches and the features of the Russian stock market, as well as the review of research papers confirmed the applicability of technical and fundamental analysis in Russia. The third chapter deals with the comprehensive analysis of the share prices of &ldquo;Novatek&rdquo; company using the above approaches and the deduction of investor strategy.</p><p>After examining a number of research papers and the features of the Russian market we identify existing limitations of fundamental and technical analyzes when applying in our market. During the analysis of &ldquo;Novatek&rdquo; shares these ones are taken into consideration. In addition, the econometric modeling share prices of this oil and gas company. In this connection, it is managed to identify the most significant factors affecting the change in the value of &ldquo;Novatek&rdquo; securities. As a result of research, we confirm the possibility of fundamental and technical analysis to be applied on the Russian market and, moreover, we estimate the potential of the &ldquo;Novatek&rdquo; shares.</p>
