Strategic project portfolio management in “СL Capital” company

<p>The main purpose of current research is to reveal the necessity of project portfolio system and work out recommendations for small businesses in project services industry. &nbsp;Despite the fact, that the object of the research was &ldquo;CL Capital&rdquo;, any similar companies could adopt these recommendations in their practice.</p><p>The objectives of this paper are organized as follow:</p><p>&middot;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Literature review of project portfolio and strategic project management in international scientific journals</p><p>&middot;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Detailed research of the project and portfolio management in the company for the necessity improvement identification</p><p>&middot;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Working out recommendations for problem spheres in organizational, project portfolio and project management levels</p><p>The main result of the research is that necessity of project portfolio is not immediate, but in short-term perspective, it will be vital for company coordination. Reduction of routine project in portfolio, increasing number of organizational initiatives and achieving strategic goals &ndash; are the most expected results of project portfolio introduction.&nbsp; Recommendations refer to formation of the strategic portfolio and individual projects in context of project and portfolio improvements.&nbsp;</p><p>Significant part of the research is devoted to issue of strategic determination, so strategic goals are the base of future portfolio management. As a key recommendation 2-level portfolios system was proposed for the Moscow and regional offices. The Moscow one includes global projects; the second-level portfolios must be semiautonomous and contains all regional projects. In each target region should be established CL Capital&rsquo;s subsidiary that will manage the local portfolio, industry popularizing and extend partner network. For regulating portfolios, relationship special regulation should be developed. This document will provide the priority of global regional projects in regional portfolio, include all instruments and opportunities for independence development. Despite of the fact that subsidiary seems like autonomous business, the necessity of common corporate principles and business-processes stay high. Because of integration requirement, IT and HR projects present a great interest. Moreover, problems in some project areas could also be resolved by implementing these projects. One more recommendation is to develop the process of translation strategy to the portfolio level. It means that employer functions will be evaluated according to strategic goals and significance.</p><p>Step-by-step approach help managers to correct strategic goals at any stage that makes this model adoptable to other companies. <span style="font-size: 12px;">Overall, the main goal current tasks was archived. As a further research maximization problem through portfolio diversification may be considered.</span></p><p><br />&nbsp;</p>
