<p align="right">Abstract of the master&rsquo;s thesis by V. Korsakova<br />&laquo;Managing the Portfolio consisting of Agile Projects&raquo;<br />Research adviser, associate Professor I. Tsarkov</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The work is devoted to research of features of managing the portfolio consisting of agile projects, and to developing recommendations for the portfolio project management modifications.</p><p><em>Purpose:</em> identify the problems of project-oriented companies, when they implement a large number of agile projects, and find out suitable principles and tools of portfolio management for such projects.</p><p><em>Research objectives:</em></p><ul><li>Study the literature of the portfolio approach to project management, reveal the features of the portfolio project management in project-oriented companies;</li><li>Compare agile methodologies of project management, identify the characteristics that are common to all methodologies and key for a specific method;</li><li>Collect and process data about the problems of project management in project-oriented companies, when they implement a large number of agile projects;</li><li>Analyze the principles and ideas of the classical portfolio project management, identify the possibility of their application for agile projects;</li><li>Develop tools of portfolio project management for agile projects.</li></ul><p><em>Research methods:</em></p><ul><li>Analyzing theoretical research and empirical data on the materials of Russian and foreign scientific publications;</li><li>Conducting the survey of project managers, processing and analyzing the received data.</li></ul><p><em>Conclusions and recommendations:</em></p><ul><li>The survey of project managers showed that using a portfolio project management lead to more successful organization problem solving;</li><li>The research revealed that independent&nbsp; project teams effectively learn agile methodologies in the implementation of one project, but face obstacles in implementation of several projects;</li><li>The development of portfolio project management principles and tools will allow project teams to optimize their project plans, and to dedicate more time fo project activities;</li><li>Recommendations and proposals for changing portfolio management tools have touched all stages of the project life cycle. The main stress was made on the portfolio prioritization, also were proposed changes in the business processes of project planning;</li><li>Developed tools will make the portfolio more flexible and able to respond quickly on all changes, and also will give an opportunity to determine how correctly was assessed the priority of the project, and to analyze trends in the project development;</li><li>All of the tools and principles can be applied to any project-oriented companies which use agile methodologies.</li></ul>
