Nowadays entrepreneurship presents as a source of economic growth, therefore the factors study affecting entrepreneurial activity is relevant and necessary for the development of economic policy. This paper focuses on the factors of gender asymmetry in explaining the variations in the levels of entrepreneurial activity between countries. As indicators of gender asymmetry two indicators are chosen: ratio of salaries and participation in labor of men and women. Their influence on the level the early-stage entrepreneurial activity is tested. Also, two regressions separately for female and man&#39;s entrepreneurial activity are estimated. The data of the Global Monitoring of Business project, World bank and the World economic forum are used. The econometric analysis was carried out by means of the EViews7 program. It showed that unemployment rate among women negatively influences female entrepreneurial activity while the level of economic activity positively influences female entrepreneurial activity. Unemployment rate among men as well as a level of economic activity have no statistically significant impact on level of male entrepreneurial activity. Other factors included in these models, were not statistically significant. The hypotheses of equality in wages and also in levels of economic activity of men and women were confirmed. The conclusion was drawn that gender equality stimulates the early-stage entrepreneurial activity in the country.</p>
