While writing the dissertation 47 literature sources were used.The keywords are innovation, premium segment and strategy.The objects of research are innovation strategies and competitive pattern in premium segment of modern automobile industry.The subjects of research are trends, regularities and differences in implementation of innovation strategies by German premium segment auto manufacturers (BMW and Mercedes-Benz) and Asian auto manufacturers (Lexus and Hyundai). The main objective of this thesis is the analysis of innovation strategies and competitive pattern of rival German premium auto manufacturers and theirs nearest competitors.The master's thesis consists of introduction, 3 chapters and conclusion.The introduction describes the relevance of the research work, specified object, subject and main objectives of the research. It also states particular methods used in this research.The first chapter contains theoretical issues. It discloses the definitions of innovation and innovative risks, describes innovation process and its main phases.The second chapter represents premium segment of automobile sector. It analyses the details of innovation strategies of the segment leaders BMW and Mercedes, and also their Asian competitors Lexus and Hyundai.The third chapter contains the analysis of the main market outlets and consumers’ preferences. It observes automobile alliances and forecasts the development of the premium segment.The conclusion contains the results of the research, and states final summary according to the main topic.
