Conditions of efficiency of international strategic alliances in the high-technology medical equipment industry in Russia

<p>This work is devotes to the research of international strategic alliances as a form of the interfirm cooperation. More precisely the study focuses on the conditions that have a significant influence on the efficiency of strategic alliances.</p><p>The purpose of this study is to identify the conditions of efficiency of the strategic alliance formed by Russian and foreign companies that operate in the market of high-technology medical equipment.</p><p>This goal was achieved through an accomplishment of the following task. Firstly, a notion of strategic alliances was defined as well as particular aspects of strategic alliances management that are determined by the type of alliance and the stage of its implementation. Also specify of strategic alliances in different industries were identified. Secondly, the list of conditions that influence the efficiency of international strategic alliances was formed. After that the trends in formation of the strategic alliances in the high-technology medical equipment industry were determined based on the analysis of existing alliances in the industry. Moreover, the list of conditions that influenced the efficiency of the alliances was formed. In the final part of the present research a diagnostics of a strategic alliance between the Russian and foreign companies operating in the market of high-tech medical equipment was carried out. The diagnostics was conducted on the basis of conditions of efficiency that were identified previously in the current research. As a result of this diagnostics conditions that had negative influence on the alliance efficiency were identified as well as the main problems faced by the Russian company in the process of alliance implementation. A number of recommendations was worked out that could help resolve the problems identified.</p><p>Results of the present study could be used by the managers of Russian company both in the process of current alliance implementation and in the future alliances which company is going to participate in.</p>
