This scientific research is devoted to the essential topic of data storage, processing and visualization with the help of BI tools.

Current research work suggests introducing a professionally designed BI system to the enterprise of OJSC “Legmash”, which is located in Arzamas. The subject of this research is data management for analytical reports development at the enterprise of OJSC “Legmash”. The object of this research is the enterprise of “Legmash”, which manufactures firefighting equipment. The purpose of this research is to implement a BI system into the enterprise of OJSC “Legmash”. In the course of work the target goal was successfully achieved and what is more, the following results were obtained:

·                  comparative analysis of BI-systems;

·                  analysis of BI-systems implementation approaches;

·                  creation of the project plan and Gantt diagram for BI implementation into MS Project at  OJSC “Legmash”;

·                  development of general requirements to the BI system;

·                  realization of the “Shops performance analysis” report;

· estimation of economic efficiency of BI system implementation into OJSC “Legmash” through costs reduction.

All target problems of this research were solved. This research studied three basic approaches to BI systems implementation. A very promising approach is the In-memory one, which is applicable for industries where performance and response time are crucial for business. However a lot of large companies doubt to use it for now because of its novelty and the minimal set of implementation examples. Advantages and disadvantages of each approach were studied and key business criteria were identified for determination of the most appropriate approach. The results of this analysis were used to select the approach "the use of existing databases" at the enterprise of "Legmash."

Furthermore a detailed description of project tasks was composed in MS Project software product. Time was calculated for each stage of the implementation process, deadlines and responsible employees were determined, working and reconciling groups were appointed.

Eventually the BI system was developed on the basis of Oracle. It can be accessed from any desktop computer connected to the enterprise network and that has access rights to the system and installed Internet browser. This system is integrated with newly implemented contracts management system, and that was the reason to decide on developing the analytical reports formation system under own steam.

According to the calculations obtained in the course of the research it can be concluded that implementation of the developed BI system into the enterprise is economically effective, and it fully automates the process of data collecting, thereby eliminates human involvement in the process of work.

The structure of the research work includes introduction, three chapters, nine paragraphs, conclusion, bibliography list and annex.

Four tables, nine pictures, annex and 37 reference sources were used in this research work. Total number of pages of this research work is 74.
