Hypocrisy is a phenomenon which is known to any member of society. Its prevalence is so wide that its definition seems obvious and lies within concept of common sense. One of problems of this phenomenon is based that its understanding mainly not to well typical representative of society. People play the hypocrite irresponsibly, including what their behavior which in a way cannot get to the category of it like unseemly behavior. Nevertheless, irrespective of this fact, they continue to arrive thus, justifying the act the serious internal or external reasons. Exist obviously to any mechanisms of avoiding of a cognitive dissonance, from understanding of that the person made something bad, but for really serious reasons.

Thus, the purpose of my research this measurement of the relation to hypocrisy by method of semantic differential, for formation of idea of motives which justify hypocritical behavior of others from the point of view of respondents.

To achieve the aims of the research, I need to solve the following problems:

1 . To define, what value is put by respondents in the concept "hypocrisy"

2 . To describe sociological approach to this phenomenon

3 . To find out the relation of respondents to this phenomenon

4 . To reveal the most justified motives of similar behavior, according to respondents.

Theoretical object of my research – are motives of hypocritical behavior, a subject - application of various methods of the analysis of data, for hypocrisy studying

Sampling units, and also empirical data source, within this subject, for me the Moscow students, aged from 18 till 24 years are. That the awareness about given concept is broadest, and representation that such hypocrisy is formed early enough, people of any age category and a geographical localization could be potential objects for this research. It is admissible that the understanding of hypocrisy – are results from the cultural environment in which the person therefore in the territory of the same central and nearby regions, any person without problems of access to it, theoretically approached under a research framework grew up

The method of research is the basic a method of semantic differential, as one of the few methods capable to formalization of so abstract concept, and also measurements of the emotional relation to him. For me basic sources here is the classical version of a method of Ch. Osgud, and also its adaptation to Russian of Artemyeva, with her own option of scales. They do not play a key role, however they were important reference points during research. Following the results of my work I conducted research directed on hypocrisy studying, by means of adaptation of existing methods of the analysis of data. Measurement of the emotional relation of people to this phenomenon, however as a result instead of obtaining the general emotional map of this phenomenon was my main goal, during the analysis those motives which according to people, are to some extent justified for acts of this sort were revealed.

All tasks designated as the main for research, were reached. I not only managed to limit that sense which people put in hypocrisy concept, but also gave its definition from the point of view of the accepted truth existing at the level of "common sense". Thus, I managed to describe the consistent theoretical frame defining sociological approach to this phenomenon.

By results of quantitative questionnaire, the task of definition of the respondents relation to hypocrisy also was reached. Thus, rather full picture not only that sense that is appropriated to this concept, but also the attitudes towards him turned out.

Thanks to a method of semantic differential, which worked as a result, not as it was planned initially, the author could present those strategy of behavior which are realized w
